In their first two home games of 2024, the Lancer men's hockey team kept the fans on their toes with a pair of overtime victories at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.

On Friday night, the Lancers earned a 5-4 win over the TMU Bold and followed it up with a 3-2 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues.

With the extra time victories, the blue and gold are 10-10 on the season and in 5th place in the OUA west division.

FRIDAY STATS
Holden Wale led the blue and gold with two goals and one assist, including the overtime winning goal.

Jake Durham,
Keegan McMullen, and
Brady Hinz all had two points night for the Lancers.

HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
The Bold scored the only goal of the first period on a power play and were fired up heading into the second. The Lancers, however, were not going to give up and scored two goals from McMullen and Wale (PP) to take a one goal lead.
The scoring didn't end there as the Bold came back to score another two of their own to retake the lead.
Brady Hinz tied the game at 3-3 with Windsor's second powerplay goal just over a minute left in the period.

Five minutes into the third, the Bold scored first to break the tie with their second goal of the game with the man advantage.

With a lot of back-and-forth action, a brawl broke out between TMU'sÂ
Elijah Roberts and Lancers'
Dylan Schives. The Lancers made a comeback in the 13th minute with
Ty Toews scoring the equalizer.

In overtime, Wale marked his second of the game with just over a minute left to earn the win.

SATURDAY STATS
Wale was once again the hero scoring his third goal, and second overtime winner.
Aaron Shaw and
Mason Kohn were the other Lancer goal scorers.

HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
The Blues came out and scored the only two goals just 12 seconds apart in the first three minutes of the game. Three minutes later, with the blue and gold on the power play, Shaw netted his 6th goal of the season to bring the Lancers within one.

In the second period, Lancer captain Kohn evened the score on the power play six minutes into the period.Â
After a scoreless third period, the Blues and Lancers headed to overtime with Wale repeating his heroics from the night before to give the blue and gold their second straight win.
