HOW IT HAPPENED
Laurier took an early lead, forcing the Lancers to concede a safety in the opening play. The Golden Hawks closed the quarter with a field goal to go up 5-0.

The tides shifted at the beginning of the second quarter. Brady Lidster put the Lancers on the board with a 22-yard field goal with 10:42 on the clock. Joey Zorn followed with a 51-yard rush, setting up Danny Skelton for a 1-yard touchdown. Lidster added the extra point, giving Windsor the lead.

Fans saw the tables turn again as Laurier capitalized on a missed Lancer field goal to drive for 110 yards and earn a touchdown. They followed up with another touchdown and extra point before halftime, leaving the Lancers trailing by 16 points.

Windsor tried to mount a comeback in the third quarter, with Christopher John finding the end zone with 5:25 left. The Golden Hawks matched the Lancers' energy, scoring a touchdown and adding an extra point with 1:44 remaining in the third quarter.

Lidster hit a field goal to start the final frame, and Windsor found the end zone to cut Laurier's lead with 11:40 to go. Istvan Assibo-Dadzie's interception gave the Lancers a late-game spark. However, despite the late-game pressure, the Lancers were unable to bridge the gap, falling 33-26 to the Laurier Golden Hawks.
