The Windsor Lancer men's soccer team closed out the 2024 OUA season with a doubleheader against the Laurier Golden Hawks.

While the Lancers were on the road Wednesday, the team returned to Alumni Stadium on Saturday for Senior's Day to recognize their graduating athletes who were playing in their final regular season home game.

Graduates of the men's soccer team this year include
Otis Vacratsis,
Kishon Cornwall, and
Simon Grande. The seniors had outstanding careers at the University of Windsor and are wished the best of luck in the future.

HOW IT HAPPENED WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday evening, teams traded chances in the first 45 minutes, but the half ended scoreless.

Laurier broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute and added two more in the 77th and 82nd minutes, ending the night with a 3-0 win over the Lancers.

HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
Fans saw a similar scene to Wednesday in the first half. While
Mason Bailey had a thunderous strike in the 24th minute, neither team managed to find the back of the net.

Simon Grande denied an opportunity for the Golden Hawks in the 69th minute with a leaping save.

The blue and gold had a few late offensive efforts to try and break the ice.
Noah Branco shot the ball just wide of the goal in the 80th minute. Then,
Nico Fontecha sent a free kick on target in the 83rd minute.

While teams held each other to a scoreless match for 89 minutes, Laurier showed up at the midnight hour in the 90th minute to find the winning tally.
