Men's Hockey edges No. 6 Gaels

The Windsor Lancers men's hockey team faced off against the No. 6 Queen's Gaels on Saturday night at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.  The Lancers were able to snap a three-game losing skid and earn a 2-1 victory over the visitors from Kingston.

GAME STATS
Will Ennis and Logan Linklater each scored for the Lancers in the outing.

Cayden Faust, Ray Hamlin, Travis Hensrud, and Johnny Ulicny all picked up an assist on the two Windsor goals.

Meanwhile in net, Nathan Torchia made 30 saves in the win at home earning the win in Windsor.

GAME FLOW
Queen's opened the scoring at 5:45 into the first frame when Cameron Tolnai beat Torchia to give the Gaels a 1-0 lead up on the Lancers.

Ennis would respond for the Lancers at 10:38 with his marker that was assisted by Faust and Hamlin to tie the game up at 1-1 which stayed intact going into the first intermission stalemated.

The Lancers would find the scoresheet again in the second period when Linklater's eventual game winning goal was netted at the 7:35 mark with Hensrud and Ulicny drawing assists in setting up Linklater's go-ahead goal to make it 2-1 Windsor.

That lead would remain frozen throughout the remaining duration of the hockey game as Torchia stood tall in the Lancers crease guarding between the pipes and not allowing Queen's to find a second goal as the Lancers held on for a hard fought 2-1 victory on home ice to improve to 3-5 on the campaign.
