HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
The weekend doubleheader between the Lancers and Thunderbirds got off to an electric start, where Windsor outworked Algoma 21-15 in the first quarter. Then, the tables turned as Algoma took the reigns to edge out the Lancers in the second, yet the blue and gold held onto their lead going into halftime.

Battling from behind, the Thunderbirds took the lead in the third. In the final minutes of regulation, teams rushed up and down the floor, seeing a pair of 77's on the board at the final buzzer.

In overtime, the Thunderbirds outscored the Lancers 11-6, resulting in a final score of 88-83 for Algoma.

SATURDAY STATS
Grant scored an impressive 20 points, with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Sam tallied a solid 18 points and 11 rebounds. Cummings also had a strong showing, earning 13 points on the night.

The men shot 70.0% from the free throw line and 37.8% from the floor.

HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
Teams each kicked off the game with strong defensive efforts, where only a pair of baskets were made for each team midway through the quarter. Sam made a layup in the final seconds of the frame, leaving the Lancers ahead by 4 points. Though the Lancers had an early rushing sequence at the beginning of the second quarter, the Thunderbirds fought to keep the Lancers at arm's length.

Forcing turnovers was the name of the game in the second half. The Lancers turned up the heat in the third quarter, outscoring the Thunderbirds 20-10. Then, a consistent final effort would leave the Lancers to cap their season off with a 78-58 victory on home court.
