The University of Windsor Lancers women's basketball team continued their OUA season on the road in Sudbury, Ont., edging the Laurentian Voyageurs 66-60 on Saturday (Oct. 25) night.

Kali Grootenboer recorded her second straight double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring the team's strong inside presence. Julia Chiarot contributed a versatile performance with 11 points, nine assists, and two steals, while Teighan Stoukas added 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Jade Hunte chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds to round out the balanced effort.
GAME FLOW
Laurentian jumped to an early lead in the first quarter, capitalizing on free throws, but Windsor stayed close thanks to Grootenboer and Hunte. The quarter ended 11-10 in favor of the Voyageurs.
Windsor exploded in the second quarter, scoring 33 points to take control. Grootenboer led with seven points and four rebounds, Hunte added six, and Maliyah Ogorek and Mya Iriah contributed offensively, sending the Lancers into halftime ahead 43-28.
The Lancers outscored Laurentian again in the third, though the Voyageurs stayed within striking distance. Hunte hit a highlight-reel three-pointer, while Teighan Stoukas paced the quarter. Windsor led 63-45 entering the fourth.
Laurentian's late defensive pressure and second-chance points narrowed the gap, with Jemaya Chinyelugo hitting key shots. Turnovers and missed opportunities made the finish tense, but Windsor held on for a 66-60 win, completing a successful road trip with back-to-back victories.
