Men's hockey shutout in Toronto

The University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey team found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-0 score on Friday (Oct. 31) night in Toronto, Ont. against the Toronto Varsity Blues.

STATS
Max Donoso had a strong start in goal for Windsor, making 28 saves while on the losing end of tonight's game.

Dylan Wightman scored twice for Toronto, with Sam Marit and Sean Clarke adding two more. Nicholas Surzycia stopped all 29 shots he faced for his first career OUA shutout.

GAME FLOW
Dylan Wightman was the only player to find the back of the net in the first forty minutes of tonight's game, scoring once in each of the first and second periods for his fourth and fifth goals of the season. Toronto had lots chances in the first period, outshooting Windsor 16-12, but Donoso stood tall to keep it at 1-0 heading into the first intermission.

The Lancers responded with 13 shots in the second period while only allowing eight by the Blues, but were unable to put any past Surzycia.

Sam Marit extended Toronto's lead to 3-0 early in the third period and Sean Clarke added an empty net goal for good measure. Windsor went 0-2 on the power play in the final 22 minutes of the game, unable to use the man advantage to cut into the deficit.
