GAME FLOW
Western opened the scoring midway through the first period on the power play. Nicholas Yearwood wired a shot home off a clean setup from Christiano Aiello and Owen Saye, giving the Mustangs an early advantage. Windsor pressed back as the period went on, outshooting Western 14–7, but couldn't break past the Mustangs before the intermission.
The Lancers found the equalizer early in the second. At 3:45, Colton Smith finished a sharp passing sequence with Johnny Ulicny and Cayden Faust, knotting the game at 1–1. Momentum appeared to shift toward Windsor, but Western responded six minutes later when Zach Power restored the Mustangs lead, finishing a feed from Yearwood. Despite multiple power-play opportunities, the Lancers couldn't find the equalizer before the period ended.
In the third, both teams tightened up defensively, but Western capitalized on one of its few chances. Christiano Aiello extended the lead to 3–1, tapping in a pass from Yearwood. Windsor pushed hard late—outshooting Western 9–3 in the final frame—and generated several dangerous looks, but McNaughton stood firm to preserve the Mustangs' win.
