The University of Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team earned two wins in a thrilling pair of games against the Western Mustangs on the weekend of Nov. 21-22 in London, Ont., winning in five sets on Friday (Nov. 21) and three sets on Saturday (Nov. 22).
FRIDAY
The Lancers team battled through a five-set thriller on Friday night, defeating the Western Mustangs 3–2 at Alumni Hall. Set scores for the match were 25–19, 19–25, 25–20, 23–25, 15–12.
With the victory, the Lancers improve to 7–0 (W-L), continuing their undefeated start to the season while handing Western (5–2) just their second loss of the campaign.
On the court, outside hitter
Gustavo Siqueira powered Windsor with a team-high 18 points, producing 14 kills, four aces, and four block assists.
Darian Koskie added 16 points, finishing with 13 kills and three block assists while hitting .522. Right side
Chase Bridges contributed 12 kills and six digs, while middle
Anthony Ivanovski delivered nine points behind a dominant .714 hitting percentage.
Setter
Markus Law-Heese guided the Lancers offence with 45 assists and 12 digs, and libero
Noah Koskie anchored the backcourt with a match-high 18 digs.
Western was led by Cade Smith, who recorded a match-best 22.5 points with 20 kills, two aces, and a block assist. Nicolas Silon added 9.5 points, and setter Michael Jones finished with 38 assists and 10 digs.
SATURDAY
The Lancers stayed perfect on the season Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Western Mustangs 3–0 at Alumni Hall in the second of their back-to-back. Set scores for the match were 25–17, 32–30, 30–28.
With the win, the Lancers move to 8–0, securing their second victory of the weekend while keeping their undefeated record intact.
On the court, outside hitter
Gustavo Siqueira led all players with a match-high 18 points, finishing with 14 kills, three aces, and one block while swinging at .250. Fellow outside
Kaden Reid added 12 kills and 13 points, and middle
Anthony Ivanovski contributed a strong all-around performance with 10 kills, four block assists, and 15 points overall.

Noah Koskie anchored the defence with a match-best 17 digs, helping the Lancers hold Western to a .237 hitting percentage.
Western saw three players reach double digits in kills, led by Cade Smith, who posted 15 kills and 16.5 points. Oliver Toomes added 12 kills, while Nicolas Silon chipped in eight kills and 8.5 points. Setter Michael Jones finished the match with 43 assists and six digs.
