The University of Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team suffered their first two losses of the 2025-26 regular season in a road weekend in Guelph, Ont. against the Guelph Gryphons.
FRIDAY
The Lancers pushed their match to the limit but ultimately came up short in a five-set battle against the Guelph Gryphons on Friday (Nov. 28) night at the GGAC. Set scores were 25–23, 25–23, 21–25, 26–24, 15–13 in favour of the Gryphons.
Windsors outside hitter
Gustavo Siqueira paced the Lancers with a team-best 16.5 points, registering 14 kills, one ace, and three block assists while adding 14 digs in a strong two-way performance. Fellow outside
Darian Koskie chipped in 14 points with 10 kills, two aces, and four block assists, hitting an efficient .444 on the night.
Right side
Anthony Ivanovski produced 13.5 points thanks to eight kills, three aces, and four block assists, while
Kaden Reid added eight kills and two blocks across four sets. Middle
Noah Nsolo contributed 3.5 points with three kills and a block assist.
Setter
Markus Law-Heese once again steered the Windsor offence, distributing 45 assists while adding a service ace and six digs. Libero
Noah Koskie anchored the defence with a team-high 12 digs.
For Guelph, four players reached double digits, led by Braeden Sears, who posted a match-high 21 points on 20 kills and one ace. Quinn Valley added 16 points, while Killian Donovan recorded 15 kills and three aces for a 20-point performance. Setter Tian Harcevic guided the Gryphons with 57 assists and four digs.
SATURDAY
The Lancers opened strong but couldn't maintain momentum as they fell 3–1 to the Gryphons on Saturday (Nov. 29) evening at the GGAC. Set scores were 25–23, 25–19, 23–25, 25–19 in favor of the Gryphons.
Offensively, right side
Chase Bridges led the Lancers with a team-high 13.5 points, finishing the night with 13 kills, four aces, and one block assist while hitting .333. Outside hitter
Darian Koskie followed with 12 points on 10 kills, two aces, and three block assists, registering an efficient .450 hitting percentage. Fellow outside
Gustavo Siqueira added 11.5 points, contributing 10 kills, three aces, and a pair of block assists, while
Conaire Taub chipped in 8.5 points on eight kills and five aces.
Setter
Markus Law-Heese paced the Windsor offence with 40 assists, adding seven digs and a block assist across four sets. Libero

For Guelph, Killian Donovan powered the offence with a match-high 22 points, recording 22 kills while hitting .372. Braeden Sears followed with 15 points, and Quinn Valley added 13 points while contributing defensively with seven digs. Setter Tian Harcevic steered the Gryphons' attack with 55 assists and added a service ace.

The Lancers enter the winter break with an 8-2 (W-L) record, tied for the most wins in the OUA. The blue and gold get back on the court for a series of exhibition games against the Brock Badgers, UBCO Heat, and Queen's Gaels from Jan. 2-4.
