The Windsor Lancer men's hockey team split the weekend in North Bay against the Nipissing Lakers. The men fell 2-1 on Friday before bouncing back on Saturday with a 3-2 victory.
FRIDAY STATS
Aaron Shaw scored in the first period by an assist from Ty Toews.
HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
With 18 seconds remaining in the first period, Shaw capitalized on a scramble in front of the Lakers' net to make the score 1-0.
However, the Lakers turned the tide in the second period, scoring 2 goals to overtake the blue and gold 2-1. Despite Windsor's efforts, the score remained unchanged through the third period, sealing the Lakers' win.

Keegan McMullen, Matt McNamara, and Toews each scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
The opening was quiet on Saturday evening, as a pair of goose eggs sat on the clock after the first period.
However, the second period saw the blue and gold rise to the occasion for the win with a triad of goals.
First, the Lancers broke the deadlock on a 4-on-3 power play. Following a cross-ice pass and shot combo, McMullen capitalized on the rebound to make it 1-0.
Toews doubled the lead, redirecting a shot from a wide angle for Windsor's second powerplay goal of the night.
Back at even strength, McNamara fired a rocket from the point to put the Lancers up 3-0.
While the Lakers pushed back in the third period, scoring 2 goals to close the gap, Windsor held on to secure the 3-2 victory.

The Lancers will hit the road to take on Waterloo's cross-town rivals. First, the blue and gold will play the Waterloo Warriors on Friday, February 14 at 7:00pm. Then, on Saturday, February 15, the men will battle against the Laurier Golden Hawks at 7:00pm.
