The University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball team dropped an 82–69 decision to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday (Jan. 30) night at the Toldo Lancer Centre.
GAME FLOW
Windsor fell behind early after being outscored 23–16 in the opening quarter but responded with a strong second frame, edging Waterloo 23–18 to trail just 41–39 at halftime. The Warriors seized control coming out of the break, however, dominating the third quarter 26–9 to build a commanding lead. Windsor showed resilience in the fourth, outscoring Waterloo 21–15, but the deficit proved too much to overcome as the Warriors secured the road win.
Both teams traded momentum in the first half, but Waterloo's decisive third-quarter surge proved to be the difference. The Warriors shot an efficient 47.7% from the field compared to Windsor's 38.6%, while holding a slight 39–36 advantage on the boards. Free throws also played a role, with Waterloo converting 14-of-19 (73.7%) from the line, while Windsor went 9-of-14 (64.3%). Waterloo capitalized on Windsor turnovers, forcing 10 miscues and maintaining control through the middle stages of the game.
