The No. 7 Lancer football team upset the No. 3 Queen's Gaels 25-22 on Saturday afternoon in Kingston.

The upset handed the Gaels their first loss of the season, moving them to 5-1, while the Lancers improved to 5-2. The Lancers currently hold onto sole possession of fourth place in the OUA standings, while Queen's sits in a three-way tie for first with Western Mustangs.

Windsor quarterback
Kareame Cotton finished with 284 passing yards and two touchdowns, completing 17 of 27 attempts. He led Windsor's rushing attack with 94 yards on 10 carries.

Colby Ginn recorded eight catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns.
Alex Patrinos contributed 11 points, converting all three field-goal attempts and both extra points.

Looking at Queen's, Ashton St. Germain completed 15 of 26 passes for 280 yards, throwing one touchdown and three interceptions. He added two rushing touchdowns, while Cedric Smith led the Gael's receivers with five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Logan Walton also made an impact with 99 receiving yards on two receptions.

Windsor outgained Queen's 447-328 in total offence, including a 163-48 advantage in rushing yards. The Lancer's recorded three interceptions to help secure the 25-22 win.

Windsor opened the game with a team safety before
Alex Patrinos managed a 34-yard field goal to give the Lancers a 5-0 lead in the first quarter.

Queen's took the opportunity to comeback early in the second quarter when Ashton St. Germain connected with Cedric Smith for a 42-yard touchdown putting the Gael's ahead 7-5.

Windsor responded with a 27-yard touchdown pass from
Kareame Cotton to
Colby Ginn giving the Lancers a 12-7 lead. St. Germain challenged that with a one-yard rushing touchdown to give Queens the advantage at halftime with 14-12.

The Lancer's took back control in the third quarter, with Patrinos converting field goals from 23- and 38-yards putting Windsor ahead 18-14 in the final minutes of the period.

The fourth quarter saw a battle between the teams as Queen's rallied to gain control of the leaderboard. Cotton and Ginn connected early finding a 20-yard touchdown extending Windsor's lead to 25-14.

The Gael's lessened the deficit to 3 with a two-yard rushing touchdown from St. Germain and a successful two-point conversion by Jayden Gurzi-MacDonald, making the score 25-22 with 10:34 remaining in the game.
