The Windsor Lancer women's soccer team wrapped up their season Wednesday night, falling to Brock 1-0 in the first round of the OUA playoffs.

STATS
Windsor completed Wednesday's game winning the shot count, outshooting Brock 8-4. Badgers goalie Madison Heely picked up her second shutout of the year versus the blue and gold, though, with five saves–Barrette recorded two saves.
Â
Penney and Badgers forward Jenna Parris led tonight's game with two shots on goal apiece, and each team also received two yellow cards.

GAME FLOW
While the Badgers, the No. 3 team in the OUA West Division, started the game with two shot attempts and a free kick within the first six minutes, it was the visiting Lancers, the No. 6 team in the OUA West Division with five straight playoff appearances, who got the bulk of the opportunities in the first 15 minutes, highlighted by four shots on goal.
Â
However, while the Lancers controlled much of the possession and added a game-high five corner kicks, Kate Halley, a fourth-year forward on Brock, scored her third goal of the year in the 31st minute–with an assist by midfielder Kayleigh DiGirlolamo–to put the Badgers up 1-0 on a hectic play in the penalty area.
Â
In the second half, Windsor's pressure ramped up exponentially, but their best chance of the game, a shot by nursing midfielder Zoe Penney in the 62nd minute, hit the crossbar–it was that kind of night. The Lancers consistently used their physicality to get the ball back, highlighted by six fouls alone in the first half, but the clock struck midnight before anything was converted on.
