It came down to the final game of the regular season, but the University of Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team reclaimed their spot atop the OUA standings with a pair of wins at Brock to close out the regular season on Feb. 13-14 in St. Catharines, Ont.
FRIDAY
The Lancers team delivered a commanding straight-sets victory on Friday (Feb. 13) night, sweeping the Badgers 3–0 at the Bob Davis Gymnasium. Windsor earned the win by set scores of 25–23, 25–21, and 25–20.
After edging out a tightly contested opening frame, the Lancers found their rhythm and controlled the tempo for the remainder of the match. Windsor hit an efficient .480 in the first set and followed it up with steady performances in the second and third, finishing the night with a .338 team hitting percentage while holding Brock to .198.
Offensively,
Conaire Taub led the way with a match-high 14.5 points, recording 13 kills on 25 swings for a .360 hitting percentage while adding three block assists.
Kaden Reid contributed nine points with eight kills and a service ace, while
Darian Koskie was highly efficient with five kills on six attempts (.667), adding an ace and four total blocks for 8.5 points.
Gustavo Siqueira chipped in seven kills and
Anthony Ivanovski was perfect on his three attacking attempts.
Markus Law-Heese orchestrated the offence with 32 assists, guiding Windsor to 40 total kills, while adding five digs and a block assist.
Noah Koskie anchored the back row with a match-high 14 digs as the Lancers totaled 35 digs and nine team blocks to keep pressure on the Badgers throughout the night.
Devin Cooney led Brock with 12 kills and 13.5 points while Kylar Code added 10 kills and a service ace in the loss.
SATURDAY
Windsor battled through a five-set thriller on Saturday (Feb. 14) afternoon, edging Brock 3–2 at Bob Davis Gymnasium. Windsor claimed the victory by set scores of 27–29, 25–14, 17–25, 25–22, and 15–10.
After dropping a lengthy opening set 29–27, the Lancers responded emphatically in the second, delivering one of their most efficient offensive frames of the year. Windsor hit a remarkable .789 in the set with 15 kills and no errors on 19 attempts, overwhelming the Badgers to even the match. Brock regained momentum in the third, but the Lancers steadied themselves in the fourth with a .233 hitting percentage to force a decisive fifth set. In the final frame, Windsor once again executed at a high level, swinging at a .562 clip with nine kills and no errors to close out the match. As a team, the Lancers hit .341 across the contest with 67 kills, while adding 17 total blocks and 46 digs in a balanced performance.
Gustavo Siqueira was a force to be reckoned with, earning a match-high 22 kills on 46 attempts for a .326 percentage and finishing with 24 points.
Kaden Reid added 13 kills, three service aces, and 16.5 points, while
Darian Koskie contributed 10 kills at a .409 efficiency.
Conaire Taub chipped in 12 kills and five block assists for 14.5 points, and
Anthony Ivanovski was a major presence at the net with six block assists to go along with four kills.
Markus Law-Heese orchestrated the offence with 44 assists, while adding six kills, 12 digs, and a block assist. Defensively,
Noah Koskie recorded nine digs and Siqueira added 10 as Windsor maintained composure in key rallies down the stretch.
UP NEXT
The Lancers finish the 2025-26 regular season with an 18-2 (W-L) record, giving them first place in the OUA after winning ten straight games in 2026. This gives the blue and gold home court advantage throughout the playoffs, the dates and times of which will be announced at a later date.
