The University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball team fell 87–54 to the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday (Feb. 6) night in Thunder Bay.
GAME FLOW
Lakehead set the tone early, jumping out to a 23–12 lead after the opening quarter and extending the margin to 44–24 by halftime. Windsor showed some push coming out of the break, outscoring the Thunderwolves 21–16 in the third quarter, but Lakehead responded with a decisive 27–9 fourth quarter to pull away and secure the home victory.
Offensive struggles proved costly for the Lancers, as Windsor shot 34.9% from the field and just 20.8% from beyond the arc, compared to Lakehead's 47.8% shooting and 41.9% efficiency from three-point range. The Thunderwolves also controlled the glass with a 39–36 rebounding advantage and moved the ball effectively throughout the night, recording 30 assists on 32 made field goals. Windsor forced 10 Lakehead turnovers throughout the game.

Yohann Sam led the Lancers with nine points, while Emanuel Otong contributed eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Matt Aebersold added seven points off the bench and Isiah Dunlop chipped in six points, knocking down two three-pointers, showcasing Windsor's depth.
For the Thunderwolves, Harold Santacruz led all scorers with 25 points on 11-of-21 shooting, while Marcos Alonso Hernandez added 14 points and six assists. Carsen Unrau provided a strong all-around performance with 13 points, seven rebounds, and five assists as Lakehead's balanced attack kept Windsor on its heels throughout the contest.

With the loss, Windsor moves to 10–10 on the season and will look to regroup as they continue their road schedule, aiming to bounce back in their final away outing tomorrow in Toronto, Ont. against York Lions.
