Tony Hitchcock is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Lancer women's basketball team.
Before joining the Lancers, Hitchcock was head coach for the Marygrove College women’s basketball team for nine seasons. While at Marygrove, Hitchcock led the team to a Final Four appearance in 2007 and their highest national ranking in program history (No. 2).
Before entering the coaching ranks, Hitchcock spent a season playing for Melbourne of the Australian National Basketball Association after completing his collegiate playing career. Antonio graduated from NCAA Division III Wartburg College (IA). As a two-year starter at Wartburg, Hitchcock lead the team in rebounding and field goal percentage. Hitchcock transferred to Wartburg from Grand Rapids Community College.
Besides his coaching role at Marygrove College, Antonio is the Director of Athletics & Physical Education at Allen Academy in Detroit. He and his wife, Jamii, reside in West Bloomfield and have a daughter, Gabrielle
