Coach Heikkinen is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Lancer women's hockey program.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Mike is an experienced coach in the Windsor-Essex region. In 2013-14, he served as the assistant general manager and associate coach for the Jr. C Amherstburg Admirals in the GLJCHL.
Prior to that, Mike was a head coach with the Sun County Panthers where he worked with the Minor Midget AAA team during the 2012-13 season.
He has also been involved with the Team Alliance Hockey Under 17 Program of Excellence as a Coach and the OHF/OHL U16 Program of Excellence as a Coach. Mike is a N.C.C.P. Level II Certified Coach.
Outside of the rink, Mike is a firefighter in Windsor.
