Joey Garland

Joey is the strength & conditioning coordinator for the Windsor Lancers.

Joe uses his wealth of knowledge to lead strength and conditioning programs for all Lancer athletes. Having an extensive background in athletic therapy and training elite athletes, Joe uses his experience to develop strength and conditioning programs to optimize the performance of Lancer athletes during their seasons and off seasons. Athletes can expect to have progressive development in their athletic abilities during their time as a Lancer, and teams programs are built in coordination with sport schedules to enhance success throughout the season.

In addition, Joe coordinates a team of driven 3rd and 4th year students to that facilitate the programs during all team training sessions. These students deliver programming to our Lancer athlete while gaining valuable experience in the field of sports performance.

Prior to joining the Lancers, Joe spent 12 years as the athletic therapist and strength and conditioning coach for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League; having won 3 Memorial Cup championships, and being selected by Hockey Canada for two world junior hockey championships, among other international events. After growing up in Carbonear, NL, Joe attended Dalhousie University for a B. Sci. in kinesiology, completed a post-graduate diploma in athletic therapy at Sheridan College, and obtained his Master’s in Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor.
