The Lancer Football team will look to get back into the win column this weekend as they host the McMaster Marauders on Saturday evening in their regular season home finale.
Windsor currently sits at 2-4 on the season and in seventh spot in the conference. The Lancers will likely need a pair of victories in their final two regular season games against McMaster and Ottawa in order to earn a playoff berth.
Coach Morencie's squad is looking to rebound from a tough loss a week ago against the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo.
This week, the Lancers are expected to again have the services of starting quarterback Sam Malian who returned to action last Saturday against Laurier in Waterloo.
Despite suffering from both upper and lower body injuries, Malian was able to complete 22 of 44 passes for 276 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Golden Hawks.
The second year pivot is the young leader for Coach Morencie's squad and is expected to provide a major spark to a Lancer offence that will be looking to put up points against the Marauders.
For Windsor, the defence will try and bounce back from a couple of tough outings and will try and keep McMaster quarterback Kyle Quinlan in check.
Quinlan, a Windsor native, has been hot as of late as he was recently named the CIS Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns and running for three more touchdowns in a 42-35 upset victory over the Western Mustangs.
Game time on Saturday night against McMaster is set for 7pm at University of Windsor Stadium.
Following this weekend's game, the Lancers will travel to Ottawa, Ontario to take on the Ottawa Gee Gees in the OUA regular season's final weekend.
