On Sunday, the Lancers faced a very tough Queen's Gaels team. Despite some great plays, Windsor could not come away with the win, falling 3-0 (20-25, 22-25, 21-25) loss.
Play was tight in the first set with back and forth scoring. The fast Queen's team kept the Lancers on their toes and stopped them from putting up easy points. With the game tied 19-19, Queens picked up their offensive play for a series of quick points which allowed them to win the game 25-20.
In set two Queen's used their speed to get an early lead on the Lancers. Despite falling behind, Windsor continued to pressure Queen's both offensively and defensively. Some Queen's mistakes late in the set gave Windsor an opportunity to grab the win, but in the end Queen's took the set 25-22.
Windsor started the third set with two power hits from Justin Kuskoff to put them first on the board. Ready to complete the sweep, Queen's battled back and took the lead. Both teams competed in some fierce rallies as the score remained tight until the very end. In the end, Queen's won the final game 25-21.
