University of Windsor Lancer men's volleyball player Darian Koskie has signed a professional contract with VK Slovan Bratislava of the Slovakian Extraliga, Slovakia's top men's volleyball league.

Koskie closed out his Lancer career in 2025-26 with an OUA first team all-star nod and a U SPORTS first team All-Canadian selection after recording 2.25 kills per set, a .475 hitting percentage (1st U SPORTS), 0.87 blocks per set (3rd OUA), and 210 total points in the regular season.

"We are proud and very pleased that Darian has been signed to his first professional contract," said Lancer men's volleyball head coach James Gravelle. "He has worked diligently and has earned everything he has gotten. Our entire Lancer volleyball community will be following Darian on his European adventure and supporting from back home. Go get 'em DK!"

The Winnipeg native recorded 21 kills in 3 2026 OUA playoff games with 12 blocks and a .487 hitting percentage to lead the Lancers to a Forsyth Cup berth, and followed it up with 22 kills, 10 blocks, and 27.5 points in 3 2026 U SPORTS Championship games. Koskie was named the player of the match in Windsor's historic reverse sweep of Montreal in the quarterfinals, where he put up 14 kills to help the Lancers win their first-ever U SPORTS quarterfinal game.

In three seasons as a Lancer from 2023-26, Koskie dressed in 58 regular season matches and recorded a total of 415 kills, 34 service aces, 92 digs, and 184 total blocks.

"My time playing in Windsor was incredible and I'm so grateful to have been supported by the entire community, the athletic department, coaches, and teammates along the way," said Koskie. "Playing for the Lancers has helped me grow into the athlete and man that I am today. I'm excited for this next chapter in Slovakia, and Windsor will always feel like home."

VK Slovan Bratislava is a professional men's volleyball team based in Bratislava, Slovakia. They play in the Slovakian Extraliga. They have won the Extraliga a Slovakia-best 13 times, most recently in 2025.
