Box Score 2 The Lancer Women's Hockey team dropped a pair of road games to the No. 2 ranked Laurier Golden Hawks and the Waterloo Warriors this past weekend in Waterloo.
On Saturday night against Laurier, Windsor left a tough 1-0 battle to the Hawks. Lancer goaltender Jamie Tessier single handedly kept the Lancers in the game stopping 41 of 42 shots she faced.
Golden Hawks captain Andrea Ironside scored the lone goal of the game midway through the contest to put Laurier up 1-0.
Against the Warriors on Sunday, the Lancers got on the board quickly with Manon Davis' first of two goals just one minute into the game. Windsor held the lead for ten minutes before Jessica Tracey tied it up for Laurier.
In the second, Windsor got two unanswered goals from Samantha Hoover and another from Davis to hold a two goal lead early in the middle frame.
Waterloo then retaliated with two goals of their own to tie the game again before Cagla Baktiroglu put the Lancers up by one heading into the final period.
The Warriors came into the third with guns blazing as they scored four straight goals to take the win.
The Lancers hit the road again next weekend as they face the Toronto Varsity Blues and York Lions in Toronto.
