The Lancer men's volleyball team earned their third straight victory, with two road wins against the York Lions and Ryerson Rams this weekend in Toronto.

In the first set between the Lancers and Lions, the two teams traded two-point leads until York stepped forward at the end and claimed a 25-22 victory.

Windsor took the second set with a convincing 25-17 victory against a Lions team that appeared to have run out of gas, despite it having a much longer bench. York's head coach Wall Dyba was furiously substituting players through the match in an attempt to spark something, but to no avail.

The Lions overcame a 14-11 deficit in the third set, as York's Reid Hall powered his squad through the final few points as York pulled out a 25-23 win to come within reach of victory.

But a deep Lancer bench would not be silenced on the scoreboard. Five players put up double-digit point totals and Windsor broke a 16-16 tie with seven straight points en route to a 25-18 win in the fourth set, and a 15-11 edging of the Lions in the tiebreaker for the win.

Josh Edwards earned player of the match honours for Windsor, while Hall got the nod for his team.

Windsor was led by Edwards and Ryan Le who each contributed 12 kills, while Andre Foster and Kyle Williamson led the team defensively with 14 digs a piece.

On Sunday against Ryerson, the Lancers easily defeated the Rams in three straight sets for the 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-22).

The Lancers had a balanced attack against the Rams as the starting five spread the attack between them.

Edwards and Justin Kuskoff led the Lancers with 8 kills apiece, while Williamson and Harrison Oake followed closely behind with seven and Shane Byrne contributed six.

The Rams were led by Chris McLaughlin with 11 kills and 12 points.

Windsor takes to the court next weekend at home as they host the RMC Paladins on Saturday November 14th and the Queen's Gaels on Sunday November 15th. Both games are at 4:00pm at teh St. Denis Centre.
