Box Score 2 The Lancer Women's Hockey team split a pair of home games at South Windsor Arena this weekend, defeating the Guelph Gryphons on Sunday after falling to the Brock Badgers on Saturday.
On Sunday against Guelph, Windsor came out strong and didn't let up their attack for the entire game. Lancer Manon Davis scored her OUA leading 15th goal of the season to put Windsor up 1-0 heading into the second period.
Guelph's Tamara Bell tied the game up mid-way through the second period, before Casandra Meloche netted her first of the season to put Windsor up 2-1 heading into the break.
Guelph would tie things up again early in the third, but some excellent goaltending from Windsor's Jamie Tessier coupled with Ashley Kirby's third goal of the season secured the 3-2 win for Windsor.
Tessier made 42 saves in the goal for Windsor.
In Saturday's 3-1 loss to Brock, the Lancers outshot the Badgers 37-28, but were unable to capitalize on multiple chances as they were shut down by Badger goaltender Beth Klause.
Julie Hamilton scored Windsor's only goal early in the third period to spoil Klause's shutout.
The Lancers hit the road this weekend as they travel to Waterloo to face the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday night and the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday.
