Men's Volleyball defeat York Lions 3-2; sweep Rams 3-0 at St. Denis Centre

Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Volleyball team defeated the York Lions 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre, and followed the win up with a 3-0 sweep of the Ryerson Rams on Sunday.

With the victories, the Lancers move to 9-4 on the season and sit in fourth place in the OUA West Division.

On Saturday, Windsor was in control early on as they won the opening two sets 25-20 and 25-18 to take a commanding lead.

The Lions would battle back taking the next two sets 25-23 and 25-22 to square the match and send it to a fifth and deciding set.

In the fifth set, the Lancers would rediscover their form as they easily took the set 15-8 to earn the hard fought 3-2 match victory.

In the win, Kyle Williamson led the way with 16 kills followed by Justin Kuskoff with 12 kills. Andrew Foster added 6 digs while Will Alexander finished with 45 assists.

On Sunday, the Lancers dominated the game from the opening serve, as Ryerson had trouble getting near the aggressive Windsor attack, allowing the Lancers to take the first set 25-18. 

Ryerson held the lead for the majority of the second set before Windsor tied the game at 15-15. Battling back and forth, point for point, for the remainder of the set, Ryerosn took a late three point lead to almost secure the win. Windsor charged back and took the set in extra points 27-25. 

In the third, Windsor gave it all they had as they held an eight point lead for a majority of the set and easily taking the win 25-15.

The Lancers will be back in action on Friday when they travel to London to face the Western Mustangs at Alumni Hall. Game time is set for 8pm.
