Box Score 2 The Windsor Lancers Women's Hockey team earned four points in a Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend sweep of the Toronto Varsity Blues and York Lions.
With the victories, the Lancers have won four straight games and now sit at 10-13-0 on the year.
After a scoreless first periodon Saturday against Toronto, the Varsity Blues opened the scoring in the second period to take a 1-0 lead.
The Lancers quickly answered back with a goal of their own just three minutes later from Manon Davis. Davis tied the game with her 16th goal of the season after a beautiful pass from captain Kelly Meincke to send Davis in on a breakaway.
Less than a minute later Candace Rapchak tallied her 4th goal of the campaign to give the home team the 2-1 lead halfway through the game.
Jamie Tessier shut the door in the third period making 13 saves as the Varsity Blues battled hard to tie the game.
With just over a minute remaining, Julie Hamilton added an insurance marker with her 8th goal of the season to give the Lancers the 3-1 victory.
