Box Score 2 The Lancer men's volleyball team swept the visiting Guelph Gryphons in three exciting sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-23) on Seniors Day on Sunday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre.
With the win, the Lancers are now 10-5 in OUA conference play, and sit fourth overall in the standings.
Both teams played with the determination to win as each set could have gone either way with both teams fighting for each point. In the end, the Lancers prevailed in three straight sets.
Windsor were led by
Josh Edwards and
Kyle Williamson who each recorded 10 kills for the Lancers. Williamson also contributed 7 digs.
Prior to the game, the Lancers honoured graduating athletes
Shane Byrne,
Adam Prieur and Augostino Di Pietro.
On Friday, a similar game played out in London as the Lancers took on the Western Mustangs at Alumni Hall. Unfortunately for the Lancers were on the wrong end of the score, as they fell in three straight sets to the hosts (23-25, 22-25, 22-25).
Windsor hits the road for the remainder of the season and travel to Kingston Ontario this coming weekend to face the Queen's Gaels and RMC Paladins.
