Box Score Kyle Lang's early overtime goal lifted the Windsor Lancers over the visiting Brock Badgers 4-3 to kick-off Alumni Weekend.
The Lancers came out firing in the tough first period against the Badgers. Late in the period,
Mark Thorburn tipped the puck past Brock goaltender Kurt Jory to put Windsor up by one at the end of the period.
Windsor built a two goal lead with
Brett Oliphant's first of the year before the Badgers came back with two unanswered goals of their own to tie the game at two.
The game remained tied for only forty seconds as
Kyle Nishizaki put the Lancers ahead again with his first goal of the season.
The Badgers managed to put one past Lancer goaltender
Frank Dayus in the final minutes of the frame to tie the game heading into the final period.
In a nail biter of a third period, neither team was able to capitalize on their scoring opportunities as Dayus and Jory each came up with some big saves for their respective benches.
It was a tough test for Windsor, but an early goal in the overtime period by captain
Kyle Lang lifted the Lancers to a one goal win.
Windsor heads into day two of Alumni Weekend with a 4-3 record and sit in 4th place in the OUA West.
The puck is set to drop at 2:00pm Saturday afternoon at Windsor Arena.
In addition to the Alumni weekend festivities, Saturday's game is also the Lancers Halloween Spooktacular. All fans are encouraged to dress up, and all kids in costume will receive free admission to the game.
The Halloween Spooktacular will have plenty of Halloween themed games and plenty of prizes for all fans involved.
