Men's volleyball loses second game of season with loss to Western

The Lancer men's volleyball team lost their second game of the season with a 3-1 (25-22, 17-25, 17-25, 18-25) loss to the Western Mustangs.
 
The Lancer/Mustang rivalry was obvious Friday night as back and forth play dominated for most of the first set. Tied at 22, the Lancers pulled away from their opponents, and a team block closed the set giving the Lancers the 25-22 win.
 
Western turned the tables on the Lancers in the second, gaining their first lead of the match and taking both technical time outs. Facing a deficit mid set, the Lancers were unable to respond to Western's challenge, eventually loosing it 17-25. .
 
Play in the third continued in a similar fashion with Western taking an early lead and controlling the scoreboard throughout the set. The final score in the third was 25-17 Mustangs.
 
Windsor looked strong in the fourth taking an early lead but fell to the Mustangs mid set. Again, unable to turn it around, Lancers lost the final set 18-25.
 
Kyle Williamson had 16 kills, while Harrison Oake had 11 kills, and Ryan Le contributed 10 kills. The Lancers will host the York Lions at 8pm on Friday, November 5th at the St. Denis Centre.
