Captain Julie Hamilton scored a pair of goals in the 5-1 victory over Western.
Box Score
Led by captain Julie Hamilton's two third period goals, the Lancer Women's Hockey team broke a three game losing streak with a convincing 5-1 victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday afternoon at South Windsor Arena.

Following a scoreless opening period, the Lancers took a quick 2-0 lead early in the second with goals from rookies Courtney Spoors and Candace Kourounis.

Western followed up the two Lancer goals with a nice screened shot from the top of the circle, leaving Lancer goaltender Jamie Tessier helpless in front of the net, and bringing the score within one.

With the Mustangs getting into some penalty trouble in the third, Windsor started to capitalize with three unanswered goals.

Hamilton scored her first two of the season in the final period, and Kourounis netted her second of the game to lift the Lancers to victory.

The Lancers hit the road next weekend when they take on the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday and the York Lions on Sunday. Both games face off at 4:00pm.
