Lancer Women's Volleyball ends 2010 with loss to Brock

Box Score
On Saturday, the Lancer women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 22-25) to the visiting Brock Badgers.

In the first game, Lancers put up a fight against the Badgers as back and forth play dominated the first half of the set. The Lancer's defense (4 team blocks) kept their opponent at bay, until the Badgers were able to pull away mid set. The final score for the first set was 25-16 Brock.

Brock moved quickly in set 2, taking the first technical 8-3 and the second 16-6. Sitting at 23-11, the Lancers hit an offensive streak bringing the score to 23-15, but it was too late for a comeback. Brock finished the set 25-15.

Much like the first set, back and forth play dominated in the third before Brock was able to take a lead. At 21-16 the Lancers offense was put in motion, gaining 5 points and only allowing Brock to put up 2. In the heated closing set, Brock took a narrow 25-22 win.

Paige McDowell had 7 kills, Brianna Balzer 6 kills, 7 digs, Michelle Pierce 6 kills, 6 digs, 1 ace serve, and Kaila Seguin had 4 kills

The Lancers will start the second half of their season on January 8th, when they travel to Toronto to take on the Ryerson Rams.
