Box Score The Lancer Men's Hockey team ended the first half of their season with a 2-1 loss to the visiting UOIT Ridgebacks on Saturday night at Windsor Arena.
The Lancers head into the Christmas break with a 7-7-3 record and currently sit in seventh place in the OUA West division.
On Saturday night, after a scoreless first period, it was UOIT who got on the board first with 2 goals in the second period.
Brendan Wise scored on the power play just thirty-five seconds into the period to give the visitors a one goal lead. Kyle Watering followed that up with his fifth of the season to give UOIT a two goal lead heading into the third period.
Windsor fought back with an early goal in the final period by captain
Kyle Lang. It was his second effort on his own drive to the net that was able to get past UOIT goalie Jason Guy.
The Lancers continued to press throughout the final period but were unable to convert, falling 2-1 to the Ridgebacks.
Windsor will be back in action on January 7th when they travel to Thunder Bay to play a pair of games against the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
The Lancers will then return home on January 15th as they host the Guelph Gryphons at 7:30pm at Windsor Arena.
