Box Score The Lancer Men's Hockey team earned a point in a hard fought 4-3 overtime loss to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday night in Waterloo.

Windsor finished the regular season with a 10-13-5 conference record to place seventh overall in the OUA West. The Lancers will now face the Warriors again in the first round of the OUA playoffs, set to being on Wednesday night in Waterloo.

On Friday night, the host Warriors took a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Kyle Schwende and Ben Pasha.

In the second, Waterloo increased their lead to three before the Lancers retaliated with their own marker to start their comeback.

Kyle Nishizaki notched his sixth goal of the season on a pass from Danny Anger and Matt McCready

Down two heading into the final period, the Lancers dominated play in the third with a strong forecheck against the Warrior defense.

Danny Anger earned his second point of the night with an unassisted goal to narrow the Warrior lead to 3-2.

Just four minutes later, the Lancers tied the game as Jonathan Sciacca scored his sixth goal of the year on beautiful top shelf marker that got past Warrior goaltender Keaton Hartigan.

The two teams battled it out in the last six minutes but were unable to find that winning goal as the game headed into extra time.

The overtime period ended quickly as Shane Hart streaked in on the right hand side and snuck one past Lancer netminder Jim Watt to give the Warriors the 4-3 overtime win.

Watt made 30 saves in the game for the Lancers.

The Lancers will now begin preparations for their best oft three playoff match-up against the Warriors. The series will open up in Waterloo on Wednesday night before returning to Windsor on Friday night. Game time on Friday is set for 7:30pm at Windsor Arena.
