The Lancers moved quickly in the second set, taking an early 7 point lead. Well passed plays and fast moving defence easily sealed the Lancers the 25-12 win.
A hot Lancer offence dominated in the third set, sometimes putting up 5 points or more before their opponent could get one. Despite an attempted Paladins comeback late in the set, the Lancers took it 25-21.

On Friday night, the Lancers played host to the Queen's Gaels and were defeated 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 21-25).
After falling by 6 early, the Lancers had to push to stay at par with the Gaels. Pulling up to within three at set point, the Lancers put themselves in range to win it. But the comeback wasn't enough and the Gaels took the first set 25-22.
The second set was much closer, dominated by back and forth play and never exceeding a spread of 2 points. Late in the game the Gaels were able to! pull ahead ending it 25-20.
Behind early in the third set, the Lancers faced the challenge of catching up to the Gaels for a second time. Rising to the occasion once again, the Lancers made a fast comeback when nearing set point.
Despite the brilliant efforts of the Lancer defence, stopping at nothing to keep the ball in play, they came up just short in their third set, a 25-21 loss.
The Lancers will return to the St. Denis Centre Friday, February 4th to take on the Waterloo Warriors at 8pm.
