Box Score The Windsor Lancers were swept in straight sets 3-0 (9-25, 18-25, 11-25) on Friday night at Alumni Hall in London.
With the loss the Lancers drop to 7-10 in the standings, while the Mustangs improve to 15-2.
Windsor earned the first point of the game before the Mustangs went on an 8-1 run. Western used strong hitting to extend their lead to 20-7 forcing Windsor to call a timeout to try to regroup. Windsor could not respond and the Mustangs won 25-9.
The second set started out a lot different as Windsor was able to battle with the Mustangs and Western held a slim 8-7 lead at the first technical timeout. Western took a 16-11 lead into the break. Windsor cut into the Mustangs lead but a Western timeout sparked the Mustangs and they took a 20-16 lead before taking the set 25-18.
Windsor again fell behind to start the third as the Mustangs started the third set out strong taking a 7-1 lead. Western remained in control throughout the set extending the lead to double-digits at 20-9, before winning the set and game 25-11.
Windsor will next face the Waterloo Warriors next Friday at 8:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
