The Lancer women's hockey team closed out their regular season with a 4-1 loss to Robert Morris University on Saturday night in Pittsburgh.
The Lancers finished the exhibition series with a 1-1 record, and will open their 2011-12 regular season next weekend against the Waterloo Warriors and Laurier Golden Hawks.
Ally Strickland scored for the Lancers at the 6:12 mark of the opening period to give them an early edge.
Robert Morris tied the game shortly thereafter, and after an unsuccessful Windsor power play, tallied their second goal of the frame to take their first lead of teh game.
The Colonials would register two more goals over the next to frames to earn the win over the visiting Lancers.
Windsor's goaltending duties were split equally with all three goaltenders taking a turn in net. Between the three, the ladies turned aside 30 shots.
The Blue & Gold will open the season against the Waterloo Warriors this coming Saturday afternoon at 4:10pm, and will follow that up with a highly anticipated match against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday, also at 4:10pm at South Windsor Arena.
