Men's Hockey defeats UOIT in Oshawa Friday night

Box Score The Lancer men's hockey team came away with their fourth straight win after a 5-3 win over the UOIT Ridgebacks on Friday night in Oshawa.
 
With the win, the Lancers are now 6-5-0 in conference play, and sit in fourth place in the OUA West division. Windsor will again face the Ridgebacks on Saturday night at 7:30pm.
 
Ryan Green put Windsor on the board fifteen minutes into the first period with his sixth goal of the season. Assists were credited to Spencer Pommels and Mark Thorburn.
 
UOIT tied the game a minute and half later with a goal from Jeremy Whelan.
 
With less than thirty seconds remaining in the first period, the Lancers regained the lead with a goal from senior forward Brett Vandehogan to go up by one heading into the second period.
 
Windsor continued to dominate the Ridgebacks with two quick goals to open the middle period.
 
At the 2:28 mark, rookie Mike MacIntyre accepted a pass from Green and Derek Lanoue, to put the Lancers up by two.
 
Thirty-two second later, Drew Palmer netted his fifth of the year on Ridgeback goaltender Jason Guy to give Windsor a three goal cushion heading into the final period.
 
Brett Oliphant scored on the power play at the 5:31 mark of the third period, before UOIT scored two goals on Lancer goaltender Parker Van Buskirk in a comeback attempt.
 
However, Van Buskirk was solid in net for the Lancers making 34 saves in the game to earn the win.
