Chevalier earns first career hat trick; Lancers split final weekend on road

The Lancer women's hockey team split their final weekend on the road with a 4-2 win over Waterloo on Saturday, and a 6-0 loss to first place Laurier on Sunday.
 
Candace Chevalier led the Lancers as recorded her first career OUA hat-trick on Saturday against the Warriors.
 
Windsor took a 1-0 lead on a Brooke Ludolph goal twelve minutes into the first period, before two Warrior goals in the second, had the Lancers trailing by one heading into the third.
 
The third period was all Chevalier as she netted three goals in the final ten minutes of play to lift the Lancers over the Warriors.
 
Chevalier is seventh overall amongst rookies in the OUA with 9 goals and 15 points in 25 games played.
 
Lancer goaltender Jamie Tessier made 21 saves in net for the Lancers.
 
Against Laurier, Kasey Martin made 12 saves on 15 shots in her 40 minutes of play, while Tessier stopped 15 of 18 in 20 her 20 minutes.
 
The Lancers will now close out the regular season with a pair of home games this coming weekend.
 
The Blue & Gold will host the Brock badgers on Saturday February 12th , and the Guelph Gryphons on February 13th. Both games are at 4:10pm at South Windsor Arena.
 
Sunday's game is also senior's day, as the Lancers will honour their graduating athletes prior to the first face-off.
