The Lancer Football team had a strong showing in Coach
Joe D'Amore's debut, despite falling 34-23 to the host Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday night in Saskatoon.
The Blue and Gold took a quick 1-0 lead to open the game before going up 8-0 as impressive newcomer

The Huskies came back with a touchdown of their own to bring the game to within one heading into the second quarter, 8-7.
The host team continued to move the ball in the second quarter, adding a second touchdown less than two minutes later to go ahead 14-8.
The Lancers did not back down however, adding another single and a touchdown catch by
Cory Fernandes before the quarter was complete to lead 16-14.
The third quarter saw the Huskies re-gain control, as they added a touchdown and single to build a 27-16 lead.
Windsor added their final score of the game in the fourth as
Dylan Whitfield caught a pass from rookie quarterback
Andrew Downer to make the score 27-23 late in the game.
Saskatchewan added another major at the end of the fourth quarter to make the final score 34-23 in favour of the Huskies.
Shomari Grant had a tremendous debut for the Lancers as he finished with 57 rushing yards and 75 receiving yards with a touchdown.
Dylan Whitfield had 55 yards receiving, while
Kamar Anglin had 39 yards rushing.
The Lancers will open their regular season on Labour Day as they host the Toronto Varsity Blues on September 5th at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.
