Lancer Volleyball splits final home games with York and McMaster

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lancer men's volleyball team split their final two home games over the weekend with the York Lions and second place McMaster Marauders.

The Lancers improved to 10-5 on the year Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 25-19) victory over the visiting York Lions.
 
Game one saw strong attacking from Kyle Williamson and Harrison Oake who had 4 and 3 kills respectively.
 
The Lancers took the second set using five kills from Oake and strong net play by Scott Hickman, Jimmy El-Turk, and Will Alexander.
 
The Lions took the third game 21-25 in a game full of runs. With the Lancers up 16-12, York went on an 8-0 run to eventually take the game.
 
In the final game, Windsor lead the bulk of the way on the strength of Oake's 4 kills and El-Turk's 4. Alexander paced the Lancers attack with 9 assists in the set.
 
On Sunday, the Lancers were unable to keep up with the McMaster Marauders, who seemed to have the Lancers number right from the opening serve. Windsor fell to the Marauders 3-0 (17-25, 18-25, 13-25).

Senior Kyle Williamson had 7 kills and 9 digs in the loss, while Andrew Foster contributed 8 kills.

Heading into their final weekend of regular season competition, the Lancers are 10-6 on the season and tied for third with the Queen's Gaels.

The Lancers will close out the season against the RMC Paladins and Gaels.

Prior to the game, the Lancers honoured their graduating seniors Charles Kahelin, Ryan Le, Jimmy El-Turk, Kyle Williamson, Will Alexander, Harrison Oake and Andrew Foster.
