Men's Basketball goes 2-1 at Calgary Tournament

The Lancer men's basketball team went 2-1 at the Calgary Dinos Tournament over the weekend in Calgary, AB.

A 31-12 2nd quarter paced the Lancers to a 92-59 win over Mount Royal in game one. Balanced minutes and scoring ruled the day as Lien Phillip and Enrico Diloreto scored 14 pts each and Rotimi Osuntola added 13 pts.

In their second game of the weekend, the Lancers faced the Saskatchewan Huskies. The team struggled defensively all game and many missed opportunities on offense prevented them from getting any consistent flow going, resulting in a 88-79 loss.

Josh Collins led the way with 21 points, while Phillip chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds.

In their final match-up, the Lancers earned an 84-57 win over UBC Okanogen to go 2-1 on the trip. After a slow first quarter, the Lancers exploded with a 24-9 second quarter to take the lead and never look back.

Diloreto finished the game with 26 points, while Osuntola had 15 points.

The Lancers will break from pre-season play until October 23rd when they take on Ashland College at the St. Clair campus in Chantham. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm.
