The Lancers (3-1) are coming off a weekend split that saw them get upset by the Laurentian Voyageurs but rebound to tally a victory against the York Lions.
Lien Phillip (Grenada) led the way for Windsor against Laurentian last Friday, tallying his third straight double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) in a losing cause for the Lancers. Following the defeat, the men were able to earn a hard fought win in Toronto by defeating the Lions 81-72.
Josh Collins picked up 17 points and four assists to help the Lancers get back in the win column.
Currently, Windsor holds the only winning record in the West and can solidify at least a tie for top spot in their division heading into the Christmas break with two straight victories this weekend. Conference all-star Phillip leads team scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.2 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game for the Lancers. Fellow all-star Collins (Toronto) is second on the squad with 13.5 points per game, while Enrico Di Loreto has added 11.8 points per game so far this season.
The Lancers will welcome the streaking Ryerson Rams to the St. Denis court on Friday evening. The Rams (4-0) come into the weekend the only undefeated team in the conference, thanks in large part to Windsor's dramatic upset of the defending national champion Carleton Ravens back on season-opening weekend. The Rams picked up a victory over the CIS ranked Lakehead Thunderwolves in their season-opener, and have tallied double-digit triumphs in their past three contests. Ryerson is led by two-time OUA all-star Jahmal Jones, who is averaging 19.2 points per game so far this season.
The Toronto Varsity Blues (2-2) come into Saturday's contest having had a roller coasters start to its season thus far. After picking up a lopsided victory in their home opener against Guelph, the Varsity Blues were brought down to earth by the Thunderwolves, falling by a double-digit count. Toronto began its first road trip of the season last weekend by falling to Laurier in overtime, but rallied for an eight-point win against Waterloo the following evening. Senior guard Alex Hill has tallied 17.5 points per game to top Blues scoring in the first four games of the season.
The Lancers will take on both the Rams and Blues at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday respectively, and the game will be available live online
