Lancers dominate Queen's to close first half

Box Score KINGSTON, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team had an offensive explosion on the road Friday night, sinking an incredible 18 three-pointers to record a 118-82 thumping of the Queen's Gaels to close out their fall conference schedule.

Veteran guard Michael Petrella sunk 7-of-8 shots, including three baskets from beyond the arc, to tally a game-high 20 points, while Enrico Di Loreto added four three's and and 15 points for Windsor (5-2), who will be the only West division team to garner a .500 record coming out of inter-division play.

The Lancers, who shot an incredible 58.8% from the floor, and were 52.9% from three-point range in the contest, went into halftime with a 20-plus point lead, but continued to pour on the offense in the final two quarters against a Queen's squad that had only lost once heading into Friday's contest.  The loss drops the Gaels (5-2) into a tie for fourth in the East.  In total, nine Lancers tallied eight points or more on the evening, while Lien Phillip picked up a game-high eight rebounds.

Windsor is back on the St. Denis Centre court to resume conference play on January 3, 2013, when it will play host to the Laurier Golden Hawks.
