Box Score 2 WINDSOR, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team split its weekend matches at St. Denis Centre this past weekend. After recording their first win of their season over Guelph in their home opener on Friday night, the Lancers dropped their following match to Waterloo on Saturday.
Two-time CIS all-Canadian
Kyle Williamson (Essex, Ont.) tallied a team-high 18 kills and 20.5 points, guiding the Lancers to a 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-20) victory over the visiting Gryphons.
Adam Thompson (Portage La Prarie, Man.) garnered 10 kills and two aces while France native
Timothee Jaumel added 11 kills in the win. Winston Rosser recorded a game-high 19 kills and 21 points in a losing cause for Guelph.
After going down a set to the Warriors on Saturday, Windsor tied the contest at 1-1 but would fall in the last two sets to lose the overall match 3-1 (25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22). Williamson once again picked up team-highs in kills with 14 on the night, whle Jaumel added 12 points in the loss. Zachary Doherty led Waterloo to its third straight win to open the regular season with 14.5 points.
The Lancers (1-3) currently sit eighth in the OUA conference through the first two weeks of the regular season. The men have a bye week and will resume the season in Kingston, Ont. on November 17 and 18, where they will take on Queen's and RMC respectively. Windsor is back at the St. Denis Centre on November 24 and 25 when they host McMaster and York.
