Box Score The Lancer women's hockey team ended their regular season with a 5-1 win over the York Lions on Saturday afternoon in Toronto.
The Lancers finish the season with a 12-12-2 record, and currently await the results of a few remaining games to determine their final position in the standings.
York's Katrina Tollis scored just 4:12 into the first period to give the Lions their only lead of the game, before the Lancers got on the board mid-way through the frame on a goal by
Jenny MacKnight.
After the rest of the first period remained scoreless, the Lancers quickly took their first lead of the game just 1:27 into the second when
Candace Rapchak scored her 10th of the year to make it 2-1 for the Lancers.
Just over three minutes later the Lancers added to their lead on a goal by
Manon Davis, her sixth of the year. Both goalies – York's Megan Lee and Windsor's
Julia Ouroumis – stood tall from that point until the end of the game. The Lancers scored a pair of empty-netters in the final minutes of the third as the Lions attempted to tie the game with an extra attacker.
Ouroumis ended the game with 27 saves, while Lee made 24 for the Lions.
