Lancers look to bounce back against Varsity Blues

The Lancer Football team will look to get back in the win column this Saturday when they face the Toronto Varsity Blues at Varsity Stadium in Toronto.

Windsor is 1-1 on the season and is coming off a tough 28-9 loss at the hands of the Guelph Gryphons last Saturday at Alumni Field.

Windsor quarterback Austin Kennedy finished 23 of 45 passing for 244 yards. Kennedy also led the team in rushing with 77 yards. Receiver Jordan Brescacin finished the game with six receptions for 75 yards.

Windsor did not have an answer for Guelph's offence as quarterback Jazz Lindsey completed 17 of 28 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown. Kicker Daniel Ferarro went 4 for 4 in field goals for the Gryphons.

Against Toronto, the Lancers will have to find away to move the ball down the field effectively and stop the Varsity Blues offensive attack. The Blues are also 1-1 on the season and returning home after a 62-7 loss to the No. 5 Western Mustangs.

If the Lancers are to find success against Toronto, they will need make smart choices with the ball and establish their running game early in order to free up their key deep threats in Brescacin and Evan Pszczonak.
