Lancers defeated by Mustangs, fall to 2-8

Box Score LONDON, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team lost its fourth straight conference match to begin the New Year, falling in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-18) to the Western Mustangs on Friday evening.

The loss drops Windsor (2-8) into a tie for eighth place in the conference standings, while the victory maintains the Mustangs (8-2) in third place.  Greg Simone had a team-high of 11 kills, while Kyle Williamson tallied nine kills in a losing cause for the Lancers.  The Mustangs were proficient throughout the evening, recording a .342 hitting percentage while Windsor managed a .188 efficiency.  Garrett May and Justin Scapinello picked up game-highs of 12 kills a-piece for the Mustangs, who garnered its second victory over Windsor this season after defeating the Lancers in five sets in late November. 

Windsor will look to snap its losing streak next weekend, when it welcomes the RMC Paladins and Queen's Gaels to the St. Denis Centre on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20 respectively.  Game-time for both games is set for 3:00 p.m.
