Lancers fall to Mustangs in London

Box Score LONDON, Ont.- The Windsor Lancers women's volleyball team started strong, but could not hold onto an early lead as it fell to the Western Mustangs 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-7, 30-28) on Friday evening.

It was the sixth straight loss and second straight close defeat to the Mustangs this season for the Lancers (2-9), who fell to their rivals back in November in a five-set thriller at the St. Denis Centre.  Windsor was led by senior outside Kaila Seguin, who tallied a game-high 23 points and 19 kills in a losing cause for her squad.  Shannon Dean chipped in 11 kills and eight digs, while Chelsey Drouillard recorded a contest-high 22 digs for the Lancers.  Rebecca Oxland led Western with 18 kills and 21.5 points in helping the Mustangs to their seventh win as well as a tie for fifth place in the conference.

The Lancers will look to snap their losing streak when they return to the St. Denis Centre next Saturday, January 19 to host the RMC Paladins.  Game-time is set for 1:00 p.m.
