Box Score The Lancer men's hockey team came from behind to snap a two game losing streak and defeat the visiting Brock Badgers 6-4 on Friday night at Windsor Arena.
Windsor is now 13-6-0 on the season, and in second place in the OUA West division.
The Badgers struck early with a goal just 28 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal from defenseman Jake LaPlante to take a 1-0 lead.
Windsor came back seven minutes later with
Matt Beaudoin's first of the game to tie the game up at one.
Evan Stibbard and
Christian Steingraber grabbed assists on the first goal for the Lancers.
Drew Palmer teamed up with
Spencer Pommells and Stibbard almost ten minutes later to give Windsor their first lead of the game at 2-1.
The first period seemed to be coming to a close before Brock would strike on two separate occasions with less than one minute remaining in the period.
Pat Henderson scored his first of the season to tie the game with just 21 seconds to go in the first frame. Dylan MacEachern and captain Dan Dooley connected on the assist.
The same three players were in on the go ahead goal with MacEachern potting the puck just 12 seconds later and Henderson and Dooley drawing the assists. The Badgers took a 3-2 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period scoring started nine minutes in with Andrew Radjenovic's eighth goal of the season with assists coming from Jordan Gignac and MacEachern.
The Lancers came storming back once again with two goals less than one minute apart and less than two minutes after Brock took their 4-2 lead.
Steve Ferry and Steingraber connected on the goals with Palmer assisting on Ferry's goal and Stibbard and Ferry assisting on the tying goal.
Windsor scored two in the third on goals from Beaudoin and Stibbard to take the 6-4 victory and move back into a tie for second place in the OUA West Division.
Stibbard led the Lancers on offense with one goal and four assists vaulting him into a tie for first in OUA league scoring. He also leads the league with 15 goals.
Matt Murphy started in goal for the Lancers letting in the first three goals before being pulled in favour of
Parker Van Buskirk who allowed one on 18 shots to pick up his eighth win on the season.
For the Badgers, Dalton McGrath allowed all six goals on 28 shots to take the loss while Adrian Volpe came in to finish the game making two saves in the process.
The Lancers will look for their second straight win tonight when they host the Laurier Golden Hawks at 7:30pm at Windsor Arena.
